Primary Purpose Of This Job

The primary purpose of this role is to lead and support a dynamic engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in overseeing the engineering activities within the department, including new product introduction (NPI), process control, and production support. The engineering manager will be responsible for providing problem-solving guidance for operational issues and developing opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement.

Essential Functions

Primarily responsible for assuring that procedures and work instructions are followed by the engineering team in support of robust, consistent, and controlled manufacturing processes.

Participate in the review and improvement of supporting documentation, ensuring it aligns with best practices and quality standards.

Manage and coordinate all engineering activities within the department, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

Determine, prioritize, schedule, and track the progress of engineering project tasks, ensuring timely and effective completion.

Lead the new product introduction (NPI) process, ensuring smooth integration of new products into production.

Oversee process control and production support, ensuring operational efficiency and quality standards are met.

Provide problem-solving expertise to address operational challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead the engineering team by developing talent, fostering a collaborative environment, and providing guidance on technical and professional growth.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to ensure successful project execution.

Develop and implement cost reduction strategies to improve operational efficiency and support the company's profitability goals.

Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations.

Provide instructions and guidance to engineering and production regarding interpretation of requirements necessary to conform to customer requirements.

Maintain and build relationships with all other ATI East hartford operations departmental functions and company customers to support an environment of mutual trust, respect, and high ethical standards.
