AI/RPA Solutions ArchitectLocation: Langley, AFB, VA – On-site full-time Clearance: Active Secret or TS/SCI Contact: View email address on click.appcast.io OVERVIEWWe are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) expertise to design, develop, and deploy advanced automation and machine learning solutions in support of Department of Defense (DoD) missions. This role involves working across classified environments to deliver scalable, secure, and mission-driven AI capabilities that provide measurable operational value.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, develop, integrate, and test AI/ML and RPA solutions to support mission-critical operationsBuild and deploy machine learning models, including solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AIDevelop end-to-end RPA workflows using UiPath or Microsoft Power AutomateIdentify automation opportunities through process analysis and process mining techniquesPerform data engineering tasks including ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformation, and quality assuranceIntegrate systems using RESTful APIs, webhooks, and secure authentication methodsEnsure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs)Operate effectively across multiple classification levels (Unclassified, Secret, Top Secret)Collaborate with cross-functional teams, government stakeholders, and mission partnersTranslate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiencesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical fieldMaster's degree preferred in AI/ML, Computer Science, or related disciplineEXPERIENCE5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML solution design, development, integration, and testing3+ years of experience supporting DoD, federal government, or defense contractor environmentsProven experience delivering AI/ML or RPA solutions with measurable business valueExperience working in classified environments (SIPRNet, JWICS) required for certain rolesCERTIFICATIONSAI/ML certification (e.g., AWS ML, Google Professional ML Engineer, Azure AI Engineer, TensorFlow Developer)RPA certification (UiPath Certified RPA Associate or Microsoft Power Automate Developer certification)CompTIA Security+ or higher (DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant such as CISSP, CASP+, or GIAC)TECHNICAL SKILLSAI/ML & Data ScienceExperience with LLMs and generative AI (e.g., GPT, Claude, LLaMA)Proficiency in ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras)Knowledge of NLP, deep learning, computer vision, and reinforcement learningPrompt engineering and model fine-tuning experienceUnderstanding of responsible AI, bias mitigation, and AI ethicsRPAHands-on experience with UiPath (Studio, Orchestrator, Robots) or Microsoft Power AutomateAbility to design and deploy attended and unattended automation workflowsPROGRAMMING & DEVELOPMENTStrong proficiency in Python (required)Experience with SQL and database queryingFamiliarity with PowerShell, JavaScript, C#, or Java (preferred)Experience with APIs, version control (Git), and DevOps toolsCLOUD & INFRASTRUCTUREExperience with Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google CloudFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI)DATA & ANALYTICSData visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)Database systems (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)Big data platforms (Spark, Hadoop) preferredSECURITY & COMPLIANCEKnowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, DISA STIGsExperience handling classified data (CUI, Secret, Top Secret)Understanding of IL5/IL6 cloud environments (for applicable roles)SECURITY CLEARANCEActive Secret or TS/SCI clearance required (must be current and in-scope at contract start)Willingness to undergo polygraph if requiredAbility to obtain and maintain additional compartmented accessesSOFT SKILLSStrong communication skills with ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholdersProblem-solving mindset with strong analytical and critical thinking abilitiesCollaborative team player with experience working in cross-functional environmentsSelf-motivated, proactive, and adaptable in fast-paced settingsDetail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracyMission-focused with strong customer service orientationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS7+ years of AI/ML or RPA experience in enterprise environmentsExperience supporting Air Force or Intelligence Community missionsFamiliarity with ISR operations, intelligence workflows, or operational planningExperience leading teams or mentoring junior engineersExperience with platforms such as AskSage, Palantir, Databricks, or SnowflakeKnowledge of Air Force systems (e.g., DCGS, GCCS, MilCloud)Relevant advanced certifications (cloud, data science, or cybersecurity)
