Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Tele/Onc position requiring WA or compact RN license and prior cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 34 beds on the 2EW Tele/Onc unit
• General medical, cardiac, and oncology patient population including DMII, GI, GU, COVID, PNA, AMS, TIA, AKI, sepsis, stroke, and dialysis patients
• Cardiac patient care including PCI pre/post care, CHF, MI, afib with RVR, NSTEMI, and chest pain
• High volume of post-cath lab patients requiring TR band care, stent placement familiarity, and q15 min checks on fresh cath patients (no sheaths or art lines)
• May care for oncology patients but not required to administer chemotherapy unless specified
• Approximately 30% Spanish-speaking patient population with a high volume of underserved and charity care patients
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required at least 2 times per month (Friday/Saturday nights considered weekend)
• Floating required within scope throughout the hospital
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
• First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years total nursing experience, including 1 year in PCU
• Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, TR band care, post-cath lab care, and central line maintenance
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and measuring cardiac rhythms
• Experience caring for patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen
• Comfortable managing titratable drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Comfortable working with cardiac patient populations
