Accounting Manager

D&B Engineers and Architects is hiring an Accounting Manager. This position is responsible for continuous improvement of our project-based firm’s accounting operations and will work across the organization to strengthen project financial management, resolve issues, and improve the systems and processes that support growth. Oversee month-end close, reporting, project accounting, and accounts receivable. Provide analysis of revenue, WIP, cash flow, and financial risks. Partner with project managers to improve financial performance. Maintain effective accounting procedures, controls, and documentation. Manage the project accounting ERP system (BST), reporting, training, and upgrades. Resolve complex accounting, billing, contract, and system issues. Coordinate audit support and other financial requests. Lead accounting, system, and process-improvement projects. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university is required. Seven years of accounting experience, including three years of project accounting. Two years of supervisory or people-management experience. Project-accounting ERP experience is required; BST Global is a plus. Knowledge of reporting, close, revenue recognition, WIP, billing, and collections. Strong Excel and financial-analysis skills. Strong judgment, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills. AEC or professional‑services experience is strongly preferred. Payroll‑management experience is a plus. Project management and process‑improvement experience are a plus. System implementation experience is a plus. Risk‑management experience is a plus. Forecasting / budgeting experience is a plus. Experience presenting results to senior leadership is a plus.
