Senior Project Accountant Irvine,CA, US Experience: Senior Level Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year Job Details This role owns job cost accounting and billing for assigned projects and partners closely with project management. Responsibilities Set up and maintain job budgets, cost codes, and contract records in the accounting system Prepare monthly progress billings, AIA applications for payment, and supporting lien waivers Track and post job costs including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor invoices Prepare and review the work in progress schedule, including revenue recognition and over and under billings Process subcontractor pay applications, verify insurance and compliance documents, and manage retention Prepare job cost reports and analyze budget to actual variances with project managers Process and track change orders, contract modifications, and their effect on job forecasts Support project closeout including final billing, retention release, and cost reconciliation Assist with month-end close entries, account reconciliations, and audit requests Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in construction Experience with job cost accounting, progress billing, and AIA billing formats Working knowledge of work in progress schedules and percentage of completion revenue recognition Experience managing subcontractor compliance, lien waivers, and retention Strong Excel skills and experience with construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, or Procore Bachelor's degree in Accounting A bit about us: We are an established construction company with a strong reputation for quality work and long-standing client relationships.
