PORTLAND HOTEL AREA DIRECTOR OF SALES

We are seeking a results-driven PORTLAND HOTEL AREA DIRECTOR OF SALES to lead sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and develop corporate, group, leisure, and local business relationships throughout the Portland metro market. This hands-on leadership role requires a sales professional who understands the market, excels at new business development, and can translate opportunities into measurable room nights and revenue. The Director of Sales will partner closely with hotel leadership and Revenue Management to maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and profitability. This position is a IN OFFICE position, located in Clackamas, OR and offers an annual compensation range of $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 plus bonus. Responsibilities

• Sales Leadership & Strategy
• Develop and execute annual sales strategies aligned with revenue goals.
• Establish sales goals, account strategies, and performance expectations.
• Analyze market trends, competition, and demand to identify opportunities.
• Lead weekly sales meetings and maintain accountability for production.
• Partner with Revenue Management to optimize business mix, rates, and group opportunities.
• Business Development
• Develop corporate, group, government, SMERF, sports, and leisure accounts.
• Prospect throughout the Portland metro and surrounding markets.
• Build relationships with businesses, meeting planners, travel managers, event organizers, and community partners.
• Conduct sales calls, site tours, networking, client entertainment, and community outreach.
• Grow share from both new and existing accounts.
• Group & Account Management
• Drive group room nights and meeting/event revenue through proactive solicitation.
• Manage opportunities from lead generation through contracting and turnover.
• Evaluate group opportunities based on displacement, rate, and profitability.
• Develop repeat group and meeting business.
• Maintain strategic relationships with top-producing accounts and increase share of wallet.

Requirements

• Proven experience in hotel sales leadership, preferably within the Portland metro market.
• Strong knowledge of market trends, competitive set, and revenue management principles.
• Demonstrated success in new business development and relationship management.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and hold a sales team accountable.
• Proficient in sales and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
