Overnight Security Officer (Full Time)

Spectrum Center Security OfficerYou will be an active member of the Spectrum Center security team available to work overnight shifts. As a Security Officer you are responsible for providing access control and security for all guests, media, and employees during non-event and event times at Spectrum Center. All requests for medical or religious accommodations to perform the stated job duties will be considered.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible greeting guests and employees as they enter Spectrum CenterUtilize Lobby Guard visitor management system to ensure all guests are accountedOperate security x-ray machine and walk thru medical detector, ensure no prohibited items enter Spectrum CenterPatrol all levels of the arena on foot to identify safety hazards, unsecure and secure doors in arena as directedPatrol Spectrum Center external footprint on foot or golf cart, including but not limited to Trade Street Plaza and loading dockProactively observe patrol and report out to management team and supervisorAbility to work the loading dock during load out for showsBe the backup to work in the Security Command Center when requiredWill work closely with the security management teamEnforce policies and procedures throughout the facility on a 24hr 7day a week basisFollow all rules and regulations as outlined policies and procedures and post ordersFollow all NBA security guidelinesRead and interpret detailed incident reportsYou will aid in direction of orderly evacuation of buildingAssists department with special projects as assignedOther duties as assigned by managerRequired Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAssociate's degree from an accredited college or university or 1-3 years of industry experience in a command center roleAbility to lead, motivate and inspire a teamAbility to think critically to solve problemsAbility to maintain the highest level of confidentialityInterpersonal skills – works well in a team environment, professional, interacts with all levels of organization and outside contactsAdaptable – adapts to frequent change, works well under pressure in a dynamic work environmentDependable – punctual, responds to manager's instructions, detail orientedAbility to regularly stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle or feel, and climb stairsPosition could place applicant in situations that may require use of physical force to resolve situationsOccasional lifting of boxes or equipment such as fire extinguishersPresents self in professional manner and have ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of organization and outside contactsAble to multi-task under time constraints, meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced industry/environmentExcellent communications skills – both written and verbal, ability to read and interpret documents such as incident reports and safety rulesA self-starter who is resourcefulFlexibility to work extended and/or irregular hours including evenings, weekends and holidays for games and events, as neededThis is a full time benefit eligible position.
