** GENERAL DESCRIPTION: **

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, equipment, and services for Powerbrace Corporation. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager , this role focuses on executing the procurement lifecycle, maintaining inventory optimization through MRP planning, negotiating with suppliers, and collaborating closely with internal QA and operations teams.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• High school diploma required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is a plus).
• 1 to 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably within an industrial products firm or manufacturing environment.
• Required knowledge of MRP/ERP planning systems ( ** Epicor ERP/Vantage preferred ** ). High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with vendors and internal teams.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret data, run inventory reports, and facilitate critical decision-making.
• Team-focused demeanor with a proactive approach to resolving supplier delays and inventory discrepancies.
• Solid project management and organizational skills to manage multiple vendor timelines simultaneously.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Execute the purchasing of raw materials, components, services, and MRO supplies.
• Place purchase orders with vendors and monitor all open orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Review MRP reports on a regular basis, plan orders accordingly, and maintain inventory at designated levels.
• Verify vendor invoices, handle material transfers, and update/maintain supplier pricing and information in the system.
• Negotiate competitive prices and lead times with suppliers for material and component purchases.
• Conduct research to keep abreast of market trends regarding product availability.
• Assist with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) systems for coordinated MRO purchasing.
• Notify affected internal departments immediately regarding any shipment delays or changing lead times.
• Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to provide necessary documentation.
• Perform as a critical backup for receiving materials when required.
