RN Clinic Manager

About USC Street Medicine USC Street Medicine, housed within the Division of Street Medicine and the Department of Family Medicine of the Keck School of Medicine, provides full‑service primary care to people experiencing unsheltered homelessness in the City of Los Angeles. Care is delivered in the field—under bridges, in parks, and on city sidewalks—using walking rounds, a mobile pickup truck, and backpacks. The program seeks to give all unsheltered residents in LA County access to comprehensive healthcare. Position Overview The RN Clinic Manager reports to the Medical Director and leads the nursing team at USC Street Medicine’s clinical practice. The role includes administrative leadership and direct nursing care part‑time (2 days per week). This is a full‑time position (Monday‑Friday, 8a.m.‑4p.m.) onsite in Los Angeles, CA, with occasional after‑hour or weekend work. Administrative Duties Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation. Recruit, screen, hire, orient, and train assigned staff. Provide guidance, feedback, counseling, discipline, and, when required, termination of employees. Direct and coordinate patient‑care programs and operational activities. Establish, implement, and enforce nursing policies, procedures, and quality‑improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and inspection requirements. Investigate and resolve incidents, complaints, or suggestions from physicians, patients, visitors, and staff. Oversee quality‑assurance programs and participate in long‑range planning and policy development. Develop and implement staff education programs, and promote professional development opportunities. Develop and maintain security procedures, coordinate with the Department of Public Safety, and stay informed about university crime‑prevention and suppression initiatives. Direct Nursing Care Duties Assess health‑care needs of patients and develop individualized care plans. Implement and evaluate treatment plans, administer medications, obtain specimens, and manage medication control. Perform nursing interventions, support complex procedures, and respond to emergencies per protocol. Document each encounter thoroughly, including history, assessment, medication administration, allergies, treatments, procedures, and patient education, ensuring accuracy for billing purposes. Compensation Annual salary range: $119,616 – $129,366. Qualifications Minimum Education: Master’s degree. Minimum Experience: 5 years of combined education and experience in nursing. Minimum Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Board‑certified registered nurse (RN) with a California license. Supervisory experience in both clinical and administrative roles. Expert knowledge of patient‑care practice, regulatory and accreditation requirements. Preferred Qualifications Master’s in Public Health (MPH) or Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA). Experience working with patients experiencing homelessness or other marginalized populations.
