Manager - Research and Development - Controller and Paint Hardware

Job DescriptionWho You AreThe Manager of Controller and Paint Hardware Development leads electrical engineering development projects and manages team resources (people, tools, and budget). Responsible for new product development and support of existing products. Oversees electrical engineering staff and works with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and FANUC on technical matters.How It’s DoneLead and manage electrical engineering projects and schedulesOversee design and development of electrical systems (power, wiring, controls)Ensure product testing, validation, and analysis processesManage engineering staff and department activitiesLead resolution of product and field issuesCommunicate with internal teams, suppliers, and customersReview and approve technical documentationSupport product releases and manufacturingManage budgets, schedules, and resourcesPresent project updates and product conceptsSupport quality, cost, and process improvementsWork collaboratively with mechanical, software, documentation, and approvals R&D groups to complete complex robotic developmentsSupport Joint Developments between FANUC America R&D Electrical and FANUC R&D groups in Japan to create electrical robot products for a worldwide marketAttend regular conference calls and in-person meetings as needed with FANUC R&D groups in JapanHigh level of personal initiative; ability to work well independentlyMinimal travel as needed (~10%)What You NeedBachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 8 years of progressive experience including leadershipKnowledge of electrical systems and componentsExperience with robotics, automation, or PLCsFamiliarity with electrical design toolsStrong problem-solving and leadership skillsKnowledge of electrical standardsExperience with project planning and budgetingWhat Would Be Even BetterMaster's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering10+ years of relevant experience5+ years in a management roleIt’s Your MoveAt FANUC America, we are driven by a deep respect for our people and a commitment to building a workplace dedicated to integrity and excellence.
