Position Overview

RPh on the Go is seeking an experienced Verification Pharmacist for a full-time contract-to-hire opportunity in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with strong prescription verification, clinical review, and compounding knowledge who is looking for the potential to transition into a long-term position.

The pharmacist will be responsible for the final verification of compounded medications prior to dispensing, ensuring prescriptions are accurate, clinically appropriate, and compliant with applicable quality and regulatory standards. You will work closely with pharmacy technicians, sterile and non-sterile compounding teams, quality assurance, and pharmacy leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform final verification of compounded prescriptions prior to dispensing
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosing, drug interactions, labeling, and clinical appropriateness
• Ensure compliance with USP <795> , USP <797> , and USP <800> , Texas pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and HIPAA
• Review compounding records, batch records, and other quality documentation
• Work closely with sterile and non-sterile compounding technicians
• Assist with prescription discrepancies, formulation questions, and documentation issues
• Provide clinical guidance and support to pharmacy technicians
• Support quality assurance and workflow improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist license in good standing required
• Minimum 4 years of licensed pharmacist experience
• Strong prescription verification and clinical review experience
• Experience in retail, specialty, hospital, compounding, or another high-volume pharmacy setting
• Knowledge of USP <795> , USP <797> , and USP <800> preferred
• Previous sterile or non-sterile compounding experience is a plus
• 503A or 503B pharmacy experience is a plus
