Day in the life

You start your shift by walking the line—literally. A quick visual check of the roll‑forming cells, presses, and material feed systems tells you where to focus. An operator flags a vibration on a straightener; you isolate the issue, lock and tag the equipment, and trace it to a worn bearing. By mid‑morning, the line is humming again. After lunch, you rotate to preventive maintenance—lubricating chains, checking gearbox oil, and swapping a tired conveyor belt. Before the day wraps, you document parts used and note follow‑up work, then team up for an installation tweak on a new feeder.

What you’ll work on

• Diagnose and repair roll‑forming lines, presses, uncoilers, straighteners, feeders, conveyors, overhead cranes, forklifts, and related production assets.
• Rebuild/replace mechanical components: bearings, shafts, chain and belt drives, gearboxes, motors, couplings, cylinders, and material‑handling parts.
• Support hydraulic and pneumatic systems and handle basic electrical troubleshooting as needed.
• Execute preventive maintenance: inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component changes to keep uptime high.
• Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, precision measuring devices, and basic diagnostic instruments.
• Assist with installs, modifications, light fabrication, and continuous improvement projects.
• Respond to unplanned downtime; collaborate with operators and fellow techs to restore equipment safely and efficiently.
• Record completed work, parts consumed, and recommended follow‑up actions in maintenance logs.
• Follow all plant safety rules, including lockout/tagout procedures.

Training and background

Industrial maintenance experience is a plus—but not required. We provide hands‑on training on our roll‑forming lines and production equipment. If you’ve tuned engines, rebuilt equipment, welded brackets, or troubleshot hydraulics in an automotive, equipment repair, or fabrication setting, you’ll feel right at home.

What you bring

• Solid mechanical aptitude and curiosity about how industrial machines work.
• Experience in roles such as automotive mechanic, equipment mechanic, maintenance technician, fabricator, or similar.
• Comfort using common tools safely and effectively.
• Foundational troubleshooting skills and the ability to read simple diagrams and manuals; confident with measuring tools.
• Exposure to welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical is helpful (not required).
• Dependable, safety‑minded, and eager to learn; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime or occasional weekends when needed.

Physical demands

• Stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in proximity to industrial machinery.
• Lift and handle machine components within established safety limits.
• Operate comfortably in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment.
