Director Certification Programs

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and evolve our global technical certification and credentialing practice for our enterprise software solutions. This role will advance an established program into a strategic capability that supports product adoption, partner scale, and customer outcomes. The role operates across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Partner teams to ensure certifications reflect real-world product use, validate meaningful skills, and scale globally with consistency and credibility. Role is a remote, US-based position.

Responsibilities

• Practice Leadership and Strategy
  • Own the certification and credentialing practice, including strategy, governance, and performance.
  • Define the program roadmap and operating model aligned to product and go-to-market priorities.
  • Ensure certifications remain relevant, credible, and aligned to customer use cases.
  • Lead a team of four product instructional and testing specialists in the definition of learning curriculum across each of our products, examinations, and update programming.
• Product Alignment and Certification Design
  • Translate product capabilities into role-based certification pathways that validate applied skills.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure certifications evolve with the roadmap.
  • Maintain strong alignment between certification content and real-world implementation.
• Curriculum and ATC Alignment
  • Define global curriculum objectives and key focus areas aligned to certification requirements.
  • Ensure consistent coverage of critical skills across Authorized Training Centers.
  • Partner with the Partner Program team to evolve the ATC governance model including tiering, standards, instructor requirements, audits, and scorecards.
  • Use partner performance data to continuously improve curriculum and delivery consistency.
• Program Lifecycle and Delivery
  • Strengthen certification pathways including exams, assessments, and lab-based validation.
  • Maintain Job Task Analyses and competency frameworks.
  • Optimize global delivery across partners and internal teams while maintaining quality standards.
• Operations and Technology
  • Own certification operations including issuance, renewal, and recertification policies.
  • Ensure exam integrity and program security.
  • Own certification technology stack including exam platforms, labs, and credentialing.
  • Drive integration with Salesforce, partner systems, and learning platforms.
• Business Impact and Performance
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Channel teams to drive certification adoption.
  • Align certifications to revenue priorities and customer success outcomes.
  • Define KPIs and provide executive reporting on program effectiveness and ROI.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technical enablement, certification, or learning within enterprise software or cybersecurity.
• Experience leading an established certification program.
• Strong understanding of certification design and assessment strategy.
• Experience working cross-functionally across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Partner teams.
• Experience operating global programs and partner ecosystems.

Preferred

• Background in cybersecurity or infrastructure software.
• Experience with lab-based certification models.
• Experience with technologies including Lismus, Skytap, Credly, Mindtickle, Skillable, CloudLabs, Pearson VUE, etc.
• Experience supporting partner-led or ATC delivery models.
