About This Role The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg Float Pool provides direct care to a variety of complex patients, focusing on achieving desired outcomes through effective communication and coordination with the healthcare team. Highlights Location: Hackensack, NJ Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health Schedule: Full-time, Night shift What You’ll Do Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Perform age and disease-specific assessments independently. Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status. Identify patient/family education needs based on age and disease. Develop and coordinate a patient/family-focused plan of care. Communicate and implement the plan of care effectively. Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning technology. Evaluate progress toward attainment of patient outcomes. Adhere to the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses. Requirements Education: Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required; BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years preferred. Experience: Six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program required. Licenses & Certifications: Current and valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey required by date of hire. BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire. National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.
