Field Service Technician

Overview Field Service Technician (Open) in Louisville, KY. This role performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of gas and welding equipment across the Louisville area. The position requires significant travel (75%) and strict adherence to federal, state, and local codes as well as Airgas policies. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, preventive inspections, and develop maintenance schedules. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and implement effective repair solutions. Maintain accurate service records, documentation of repairs, and inventory of parts. Ensure safety protocols and compliance with regulatory requirements. Care for the company service vehicle, maintaining inventory, cleanliness, and routine inspections. Communicate with customers, sales teams, and internal departments regarding service calls and equipment status. Participate in an on‑call rotation for emergency service as required. Required Qualifications Minimum 2+ years in field service, industrial maintenance, or a related technical role. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment. Proficiency reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle safely. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work under varying environmental conditions. Commitment to safety and adherence to all company and industry safety standards. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or technical certification in HVAC, industrial mechanics, electronics, etc., preferred. Experience with gas delivery systems, welding equipment, or industrial gas applications. Basic computer skills for record‑keeping and communication. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to prioritize service calls. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
