Postdoctoral Research Associate - Pathology & Immunology

Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven and creative Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the laboratory of Dr Aydan Szeto with the department of Pathology & Immunology at WashU in St. Louis to discover new pathways in the regulation of type-2 immunity. We have recently used cutting-edge CRISPR screens to identify new regulators of ILC2 and Th2 cell function and produced the first ‘Boolean mouse’ to study ILC2s in vivo (Science 2024 PMID 38935708; Nature Immunol. 2023 PMID 36550322; Immunity 2023 PMID 37285842). You will be able to take advantage of these exciting new techniques and tools to make significant contributions to our fundamental understanding of type-2 immunity. You will initially work closely with Dr Aydan Szeto but have the opportunity to work independently to plan your own work and objectives. The appointment is viewed as a training or transitional period preparatory to an academic, industrial, governmental, or other full-time research or teaching career. To identify, develop and apply a broad range of techniques to pursue the research objectives. To draft scientific papers, and contribute to the overall preparation of research for publication. To assist in the training of PhD and undergraduate students. Working Conditions This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals. Salary Range Base pay is commensurate with experience.
