Operations Manager Location: Massachusetts, MA, Middlesex County Base pay range: $160,000.00/yr – $180,000.00/yr 401(k) with company match up to 5% Full-time, Factory-based 5 days per week Mobile and laptop provided Umbilical Search is proud to be partnering with a high-technology manufacturing company. The business operates a state-of-the-art facility in Massachusetts, producing advanced technical products for diverse industrial, engineering and technology markets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business where you will lead all operations activities, including lean and continuous improvement. The role will have direct responsibility for multiple production departments, leading a total team of approximately 60 direct staff. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily factory operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team while fostering a Lean and Continuous Improvement culture Monitor KPIs, manage WIP, and implement corrective actions to optimize plant performance Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and H&S teams Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and value stream mapping Develop, maintain, and execute a Continuous Improvement roadmap aligned with strategic objectives Train and mentor employees in Lean/Continuous Improvement tools, digital systems, and best practices Lead daily/weekly production meetings, Gemba walks, and senior management alignment sessions Manage inventory, stock turns, OTIF, safety, quality, labor utilization, and operational KPIs Support ERP/MRP activities and drive digital transformation initiatives, including SPC dashboards and traceability systems About You Proven leadership in a senior operational role – Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar Background in mid-volume, technically complex manufacturing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Science, or related field (Master’s preferred) Lean/Six Sigma experience essential (Green Belt or higher) Hands‑on, strategic, and capable of driving Continuous Improvement initiatives while managing day‑to‑day operations Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and KPI management skills This role offers full autonomy to shape and lead the site.
