We are seeking a technically capable E-Commerce Engineer & Digital Automation Specialist to support and optimize the U.S. digital experience across our portfolio.

Reporting to the Digital Commerce & Specification Manager , this hands-on role will focus on Shopify, digital product data, integrations, workflow automation and emerging AI capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical and e-commerce expertise with experience in automation, digital platforms and AI. This person will help build smarter, more scalable digital processes while supporting the ongoing performance and evolution of our digital ecosystem.

About the Role

The E-Commerce Engineer & Digital Automation Specialist will support the Digital Commerce & Specification Manager in the execution and optimization of PFGNA's U.S. e-commerce and digital technology initiatives.

This role is focused on the technical execution behind the digital experience, including Shopify optimization, integrations, automation, product data and AI-powered workflows.

Responsibilities

E-Commerce & Shopify

\n
• Support the day-to-day management, optimization and technical performance of the U.S. Shopify e-commerce environment.
\n
• Manage and maintain product listings, collections, navigation, search, pricing and digital content.
\n
• Support new product and collection launches, ensuring information is accurate and delivered on time.
\n
• Partner with Italian digital and technology teams on Shopify development, functionality, integrations and enhancements.
\n
• Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements and development tasks.
\n
• Test new functionality and proactively identify and resolve technical and customer-experience issues.
\n
• Support Shopify apps, integrations, APIs and other digital tools.
\n
• Monitor website performance and identify opportunities to improve the digital customer journey.
\n
• Support ongoing optimization of site functionality, usability and conversion.
\n

AI & Automation

\n
• Identify repetitive and manual processes across e-commerce, product data and digital operations that can be improved through automation.
\n
• Develop and implement automated workflows that improve productivity, accuracy and efficiency.
\n
• Identify opportunities to use AI and generative AI to support product content, SEO, product information and internal workflows.
\n
• Support the development of AI-powered workflows and agents that reduce manual work and improve scalability.
\n
• Evaluate emerging automation and AI technologies relevant to e-commerce and digital operations.
\n
• Document and maintain automated workflows and provide training to internal users as needed.
\n

Digital Product Data & Content

\n
• Support the management of product specifications, imagery, videos, CAD files, 3D assets, finishes, pricing and other digital product content.
\n
• Maintain accurate and consistent product information across Shopify and other digital platforms.
\n
• Support processes for new product launches, price changes, discontinued products and product updates.
\n
• Identify and resolve inconsistencies across digital platforms and data sources.
\n
• Support the development and use of PIM, DAM and other product-information systems as applicable.
\n

Technical Integrations & Digital Operations

\n
• Support integrations between Shopify and internal or external digital systems.
\n
• Work with APIs, webhooks and third-party applications to improve digital workflows and connectivity.
\n
• Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with internal and external technology partners to resolve them.
\n
• Support data quality, system accuracy and ongoing digital process improvements.
\n
• Help establish scalable processes as PFGNA's digital ecosystem continues to grow.
\n

Cross-Functional Collaboration

\n
• Work closely with the Digital Commerce & Specification Manager to execute PFGNA's U.S. digital roadmap.
\n
• Collaborate with U.S. Marketing, Retail, E-Commerce, Sales, Product Management and IT teams.
\n
• Partner with Italian digital and technology teams and external technology providers.
\n
• Translate technical requirements and solutions into clear information for non-technical stakeholders.
\n
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
\n

Qualifications

Required

\n
• 3+ years of experience in e-commerce technology, web development, automation, digital product management or a related field.
\n
• Hands-on experience with Shopify or another major e-commerce platform.
\n
• Experience managing digital product catalogs and structured product information.
\n
• Strong understanding of e-commerce technology, digital workflows and system integrations.
\n
• Experience building or optimizing automated workflows.
\n
• Demonstrated experience using AI and generative AI tools to improve business processes or productivity.
\n
• Experience with APIs, integrations, webhooks or similar technologies.
\n
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Strong project-management and organizational skills.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail.
\n
• Ability to work effectively with international teams and across time zones.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n

Preferred

• Experience with Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or similar technologies.
\n
• Experience with PIM, DAM or other product-information systems.
\n
• Experience with Klaviyo or comparable CRM and email marketing platforms.
\n
• Experience with automation platforms such as Make, Zapier or Power Automate.
\n
• Experience developing AI workflows, AI agents or LLM-powered solutions.
\n
• Experience with Google Analytics or GA4.
\n
• Experience in luxury, furniture, architecture, interior design, fashion or premium consumer goods.
\n

The Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on digital technologist who understands both e-commerce and technology.

The successful candidate will be comfortable troubleshooting Shopify, working with product data, building integrations and identifying opportunities to use automation and AI to improve how the business operates.
