Job Title: Machine Operator – Laser Production

Job Description

This role focuses on operating laser equipment to manufacture medical products, including biowearable sensors such as glucose monitors, wound care bandages, and devices used for diagnostic purposes. You will work with different types of machines and participate in cross-training to support multiple production processes while maintaining high quality standards and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser machines and other production equipment to run cycles according to established procedures and specifications.
• Inspect parts as they come off the machines to ensure they meet quality, safety, and dimensional requirements.
• Perform tests on parts and components to verify functionality and compliance with production standards.
• Package finished items carefully and accurately, following defined packaging and labeling guidelines.
• Document production data and test results both manually and digitally, maintaining accurate records in logs, forms, and computer systems.
• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions to maintain consistent output and minimize errors.
• Participate in cross-training on different machines and processes to support various areas of production as needed.
• Use measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Conduct visual inspections and basic troubleshooting of equipment and parts to identify issues and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety and quality protocols within the production environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience with machine operation or production equipment, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical inclination with the ability to understand how machines and tools function and to learn new equipment quickly.
• High attention to detail when inspecting parts, running tests, and documenting information.
• Ability to perform basic inspections using tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Comfort working with laser operation and related production processes.
• Consistent work history demonstrating reliability and dependability.
• Ability to work on a fixed third shift schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality standards.
• Willingness to cross-train on different machines and support various production tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Six or more months of experience in manufacturing, machine operating, mechanical assembly, or medical assembly is preferred.
• Experience with assembly, packaging, and inspection in a production setting.
• Comfort working in a smaller team environment across different shifts.
• Ability to use digital systems for data entry and documentation.
• Interest in learning and growing with a facility that is projected to expand.
• Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a stable work record are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment

The role is based in a smaller production facility with compact team sizes across shifts: approximately 15–20 people on first shift, around 5 people on second shift, and about 3–4 people on third shift. You will work on third shift, Sunday through Thursday, from 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The environment is moderately loud due to machinery, but you may wear one earbud to listen to music, podcasts, or audiobooks while working. The production area is not a full clean room, but you will wear lab coats and hair nets as part of the standard dress code to maintain product cleanliness. The workspace features laser equipment and other production machinery, with a focus on medical product manufacturing, and emphasizes safety, quality, and a relaxed yet professional atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, WI.

The pay range for this position is $23.40 - $23.40/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hudson,WI.
