Transportation Safety & Compliance Manager

Role Description The Transportation Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures that support safe trucking operations and regulatory compliance. Day-to-day tasks include conducting safety audits and inspections of vehicles and facilities, leading accident and incident investigations, and maintaining accurate safety records and reports. The Transportation Safety Manager will organize and deliver safety training for drivers and staff, oversee corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with operations leaders to reduce risk and prevent workplace injuries. This role also involves staying current with federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices to ensure the company’s safety programs remain effective and compliant. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Occupational Health knowledge and experience applying health standards in transportation or industrial environments. Candidates should possess skills in Safety Training, including developing training materials, facilitating sessions, and evaluating training effectiveness. Candidates should possess Environment Health and Safety (EHS) expertise, with the ability to integrate environmental and safety requirements into daily operations. Candidates should possess Accident Investigation and Industrial Safety skills, including root-cause analysis, incident documentation, and implementation of preventive measures. Experience with DOT, OSHA, and other relevant safety regulations and compliance requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage drivers, operations staff, and leadership on safety priorities. Previous experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, or a related industry safety role is highly beneficial. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST) are a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
