Location: Campbell Blvd, MD 21236

Hire Type: Contingent

Pay Range: $16.20 – 22.50/hr.

Work Model: onsite

Work Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Nature & Scope:

Positional Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Services Representative to support daily operations within a busy ophthalmology practice. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and professional patient experience from check-in through check-out.

Role & Responsibility:

Tasks That Will Lead to Your Success

  • Greet and check in patients for scheduled appointments in a professional and courteous manner
  • Verify insurance coverage , collect co-pays, and process payments accurately
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate patient visits based on provider availability
  • Process referrals and ensure all required documentation is completed
  • Check out patients and provide visit summaries or next steps as needed
  • Enter and maintain accurate patient data in the system
  • Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to coordinate schedules and patient flow
  • Assist healthcare providers with administrative support as needed
  • Manage appointment scheduling by balancing daily capacity, staffing needs, and patient demand
  • Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with healthcare procedures

Skills & Experience

Qualifications That Will Help You Thrive

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, medical office, or customer service setting preferred
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong customer service and patient interaction skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
  • Basic knowledge of insurance verification and medical office procedures
  • Proficiency in computer systems and scheduling software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Additional Requirements

  • Flu vaccination required
  • Health screening required
  • Ability to work onsite full-time during initial assignment
  • Reliable transportation (free onsite parking available)
