Location: 5200 Eastern Avenue

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30a-5:00p

Pay rate: $24

Responsibilities:

• Checking in patients for their appointments, checking out patients and assigning a follow up appointment if necessary
• Verifying insurance, collecting payments, processing referrals and answering phones
• Assisting providers as needed
• Providing friendly, courteous and confidential assistance to patients and their family members/representatives
• Following HIPPA guidelines at all times
• Using EPIC system for patient registration, scheduling, check-in, check-out, processing referrals and to communicate patient messages to providers
• Handling in-basket messages sent to the Front Desk Pool and in a timely fashion
• Checking Right-fax and forwarding to proper provider/staff
• Sending faxes through Right-fax
• Scanning appropriate faxes into patient record in Epic
• Scheduling pre-op appointments and making sure the orders from referring providers have been received
• Filling vacant appointment slots due to cancellations
• Verifying Medical Assistance eligibility via the Electronic Verification System (EVS)
• Verifying all other insurances using RTE in EPIC
• Checking eligibility for grant patients prior to arriving patient for visit
• Verifying demographic information (address and phone number), and insurance information at each visit and making necessary corrections
• Scanning picture ID and insurance card into EPIC at first visit and verifying at all subsequent visits
• Calling insurance company if information on insurance card is incorrect
