Diesel Mechanic

*ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment * Performs preventative maintenance services, including changing oil, checking fluids, inspecting batteries, testing lights, and lubricating equipment * Establishes and maintains positive working relationships * Receives and carries out instructions * Maintains regular and predictable attendance * Performs other duties as assigned. *Available Shifts: * Sunday-Wednesday 6am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday 4pm-2:30am Thursday-Sunday 6am-4:30pm *REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:* * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair * Excellent mechanical repair skills * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues * Ability to read service and repair manuals * Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion * Ability to read work orders * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software *QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:* Associate degree; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* * Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present * Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100lbs. * Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed * Good vision to inspect repair work * Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections *CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:* ASE certified and DOT inspection certified as required by supervisor EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 609 as required by supervisor and/or location EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 as required by supervisor and/or location Valid driver's license as required by supervisor, with CDL Class A driver's license preferred *OTHER* Must have own tools Safety shoes (steel or composite toe) required Pay: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee assistance program * Flexible spending account * Health insurance * Life insurance * Parental leave * Profit sharing * Referral program * Vision insurance Work Location: In person
