Position Summary

Franzenburg is a fast-growing industrial company specializing in centrifuge repair, rebuilds, and field service. Accurate purchasing and tight inventory control are critical to our operations and profitability.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing & Inventory Specialist to own procurement activities and inventory management. This role supports both the shop and field service teams while helping professionalize our materials processes as we grow and integrate acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing / Procurement

• Source and purchase parts, materials, supplies, and equipment
• Manage vendor relationships, pricing, and lead times
• Issue purchase orders and track open orders through delivery
• Negotiate pricing and terms where appropriate
• Coordinate with production, service, and management on material needs
• Resolve receiving discrepancies and vendor issues

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory records across parts, steel, WIP, and finished goods
• Perform and oversee cycle counts and physical inventories
• Investigate and resolve inventory variances
• Support proper inventory valuation and costing
• Monitor min/max levels and recommend reorder points
• Help improve inventory processes, organization, and accuracy
• Coordinate with accounting on inventory adjustments and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or inventory experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in an industrial/shop environment
• Proficiency in Excel and inventory/purchasing systems
• Clear communicator who can work effectively with vendors, shop staff, and office teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

Preferred

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, or equipment repair
• Familiarity with job costing or parts-intensive operations
• Experience with inventory software or ERP systems
• Knowledge of basic accounting related to inventory

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly pay in the $31 – $38 per hour range, depending on experience

This is a hands-on role with real ownership over materials and inventory accuracy during a period of significant company growth.

This is position reports to the Inventory Manager
