Opportunity Overview
A growing commercial banking organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Relationship Manager to help expand an established business banking office while positioning for future leadership opportunities.
This role is ideal for a high-performing commercial banker who enjoys business development, understands commercial credit, and is interested in eventually leading a commercial banking team.
Rather than hiring an outside manager immediately, the organization is seeking a respected producer who can establish credibility through performance before assuming broader leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Develop new commercial banking relationships
- Manage an existing portfolio of commercial clients
- Originate commercial loans and deposit relationships
- Structure commercial lending opportunities
- Perform preliminary credit analysis and loan request preparation
- Partner with underwriting throughout the approval process
- Build referral relationships throughout the market
- Participate in community and business development activities
- Contribute to overall office production goals
- Mentor teammates and support future office leadership initiatives
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 7+ years of commercial banking experience
- Proven commercial lending production
- Strong business development skills
- Solid commercial credit knowledge
- Experience with both commercial real estate and C&I lending preferred
- Ability to structure transactions independently
- Leadership aspirations
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Team-oriented and collaborative
Preferred Business Characteristics
- Annual commercial production of approximately $15MM or more
- Diverse commercial client portfolio
- Existing referral network
- Mix of commercial real estate and C&I relationships
- Experience serving privately held businesses and investors
Not a Fit If You
- Prefer a deposit-only role
- Rely heavily on centralized credit teams for deal structuring
- Want a management title without maintaining production
- Have limited commercial credit experience
- Prefer highly specialized or narrowly defined banking roles
