Details High-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with 4 ORs, 31 rooms and 31 beds Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2 Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30 Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed, including 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Float required to Postpartum/Antepartum units and to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required at time of submission BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a high acuity, high-pace environment required High-risk L&D experience required Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide continued newborn care until transfer to postpartum Must be able to circulate for deliveries Must be able to provide newborn care including eye and Vitamin K injections, thigh injections, and newborn assessments Epic EMR experience required Current Nursys verification required Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required Must pass clinical review Additional Information Manage labor and delivery care including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock response Administer medications including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, pitocin, and terbutaline Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring, cord sample collection, ID/security banding, and neonatal resuscitation Provide postpartum care for patients including cesarean section recovery, couplet care, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage management Support breastfeeding/lactation, episiotomy and incisional care, foley catheter management, and fundus/lochia/perineum care Provide pain management support including epidural anesthesia and opioid administration Perform fetal monitoring and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Provide antepartum triage and care for obstetrical patients First-time travelers are accepted for this role Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate Radius requirement of 50 miles applies Time off requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location American Traveler Job ID P-740115.
