VP, Growth Marketing

80Twenty is a boutique marketing recruitment agency that connects high-growth companies with exceptional candidates. Our client, a leading LGBTQ+ streaming platform that reaches over 70 million households and 5 million active monthly users, is hiring for a VP, Growth Marketing to help them reach the next stage of their growth. The company is growing at a rate of 20-25% YoY (has been as high as 100%), and is looking for a growth marketing leader to help them reach new audiences and better engage with the audience they currently have. This person will own the strategy and be hands-on executing growth marketing campaigns across search, social and programmatic platforms, overseeing a small team (primarily creative, but one hands-on social media manager). This person should be comfortable working with executive leadership teams to develop strategy for growth campaigns, as well as evaluating creative and effective ways to engage with their current audience and attract new users. This is a hands-on leadership position: the right person will personally execute performance marketing campaigns across paid social, Google, and connected TV, not direct an agency to do it. The core business problem this role solves is converting a growing base of social and mobile followers into viewers who actually watch on connected TV, the company's top acquisition priority. During lower-budget windows, this person will pivot toward earned media, building relationships with publicists and pitching platform editorial teams around key cultural moments throughout the year. The role can be fully remote, or based in Los Angeles. If Los Angeles based the role will be hybrid onsite 3 days per week, or if remote this person will work west coast hours. Responsibilities: Own and personally execute performance marketing campaigns across paid social, Google, and connected TV Build and continuously optimize an acquisition strategy that converts social and mobile followers into connected TV viewers Lead earned media strategy during lower-budget periods, including publicist outreach and platform editorial pitching Partner with Programming, Product, and Creative to develop strategies that grow watch time and repeat viewership Lead, coach, and develop a small existing marketing team, including direct oversight of day-to-day social execution Build the operating rhythm for marketing, including dashboards, KPI reporting, quarterly planning, and budget management Bring a strong point of view on creative that resonates with the audience, in partnership with the Chief Creative Officer Identify and help grow revenue lines beyond core streaming, including live events, merchandising, and a self-serve advertising product Present strategy, performance, and recommendations directly to company leadership Requirements: 8+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with meaningful experience leading growth or performance marketing for a consumer, media, entertainment, streaming, subscription, or digital platform. A proven track record of growing audiences through data-driven marketing strategies. Deep expertise across paid acquisition, lifecycle marketing, analytics, attribution, experimentation, and marketing technology. Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in fast-paced, resource-conscious environments. Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting strategy, performance, and recommendations to founders or senior leadership. You don't need to identify as LGBTQ+, but you should understand how mission-driven brands authentically engage passionate audiences. Compensation & Benefits Base salary of $160,000 to $180,000 depending on experience, with eligibility for a performance-based incentive program.
