Staff Accountant

An established and growing company in West Houston is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a collaborative accounting environment. This position offers exposure to a variety of accounting functions and provides a strong foundation for long-term career development.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclassificationsAssist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activitiesPerform balance sheet and bank account reconciliationsAnalyze general ledger accounts and investigate variancesAssist with preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedulesReconcile prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accountsSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable as neededMaintain accurate financial records and documentationAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projectsSupport external audits by preparing requested schedules and documentationMonitor compliance with company policies and accounting proceduresParticipate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
