General Summary: Under the direction of the Grants Management (GM) Supervisor, the Grant Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reports and providing analysis to internal and external customers, including CFO, management staff, funders, grantors, and government agencies. The role also assists with daily activities and special projects of the Grants Management Department. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual reports to funder, including invoices, financial statements, and other supporting documentation; 15% Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to program management, including financial statements, projections, and other analysis; meet with GM Supervisor regularly; assist with presenting results; 15% Create and maintain reports in AI to manage grants assigned, in collaboration with GM Supervisor and FP&A; 15% Regularly review general ledger transactions for accuracy, and complete adjusting journal entries as necessary; 10% Work with GM Supervisor and program managers for grants assigned and field questions, concerns, requests; 10% Regularly review distribution codes and cost allocation for grants, propose changes and complete adjusting journal entries; 10% Perform grant close‑out functions, including reconciliations, financial status reports, final invoices, monitoring year‑end liquidations, zeroing out budgets, and financial reporting; 10% Review and record monthly revenue and corresponding receivables/payables for grants; monitor accounts receivable/payable through close‑out; 5% Assist with preparation of budgets for annual refunding applications; update AI funder approved budgets and ensure proper inclusion with agency annual budget; 5% Ad hoc and other research projects as assigned; 5% Job Specifications Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or a Bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in accounting or finance, required. Experience: Two+ years of accounting or finance experience with preparation of financial statements; working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Technical Requirements: Strong computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word; minimum knowledge of vlookup, sorting, linking, sumifs, and pivot table basics; working knowledge of all other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, etc.) required. Work Schedule: Full time, typically M‑F, regular business hours. Work environment: Office work environment; ambient temperature, noise level, indoors. Background & Health Clearance Requirements: Determined by the program(s) supported. Background check required. Specific roles may have additional verification or clearance based on program requirements, including Live Scan, health clearance, MVR/DMV clearance, Child Development Permit, CPR/Pediatric CPR certification, and Federal Debarment checks where applicable.
