Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description

This role operates in a warehouse environment and focuses on general labor tasks such as picking, packing, and shipping and receiving. You will handle a variety of warehouse functions, with primary responsibility for shipping and receiving activities and material handling, including operating a forklift as needed.

• Perform daily shipping and receiving duties, including preparing outgoing shipments and processing incoming deliveries.
• Pick and pack orders accurately, ensuring products and quantities match documentation.
• Handle materials throughout the warehouse, including loading, unloading, and staging inventory.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move, store, and organize products.
• Support all general warehouse functions as needed, including inventory movement and order fulfillment.
• Lift and move boxes and products weighing up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
• Assist in the distribution of shirts, gloves, shorts, and other athletic gear shipped to colleges across the country.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with warehouse leads, supervisors, and team members to meet daily productivity goals.
• Adhere to scheduled working hours and contribute to smooth warehouse operations during busy seasonal periods.

• At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
• Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
• Material handling experience in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to learn and follow safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly.
• Reliability in adhering to a 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday schedule.
• Attention to detail when picking, packing, and processing orders.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small warehouse team.

• Experience working in a smaller, high-volume warehouse environment.
• Comfort working with athletic apparel and sporting goods inventory.
• Ability to adapt to seasonal fluctuations in workload.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take on a variety of warehouse tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to perform well during an initial 3–4 month period, with potential for longer-term opportunities.

The role is based in a smaller warehouse facility of approximately 300,000 square feet, where most temporary employees work alongside a team of leads and supervisors. The warehouse operates with a small, close-knit team and experiences its busiest seasons from summer through winter as sports gear sales increase. The schedule runs from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, providing regular daytime hours. Work involves handling athletic apparel such as shirts, gloves, and shorts, and using typical warehouse equipment including forklifts. Dress expectations are consistent with a warehouse setting, emphasizing practicality and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
