This role is ideal for dedicated professionals ready to support learners of diverse abilities in an engaging, collaborative school environment. Located in a vibrant community near Waterbury, CT, this onsite position is a contract assignment covering a leave from mid-September through late October, offering the chance to develop meaningful connections with students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Connecticut Special Education Teacher license, including all required certifications.
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or in a school-based special education setting.
- Strong knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and proven ability to implement targeted support strategies.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual needs and create a positive, inclusive learning space.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with varying disabilities in alignment with their IEPs.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and participation.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress reports.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives as required.
This is a 35-hour-per-week onsite position from September 15 to October 27, 2026.
