Posting Summary Rutgers University Correctional Healthcare is seeking a full‑time Staff Nurse for Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ. The Staff Nurse will use the nursing process to address a range of health care needs with a primary focus on ambulatory care. The role collaborates with health professionals and security officers in a correctional environment. Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet the physiological, psychosocial, and emotional needs of inmate‑patients (ages 18–64 and 65+) within the framework established by the correctional system. Utilizes effective communication skills by demonstrating respect, concern, and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships. Applies current knowledge to promote a safe environment for providing health care to inmate‑patients. Employment Status FLSA status: Non‑exempt. Grade: 01D. Working Hours: 40 per week. Shift: Night. Must lift and carry an emergency treatment bag weighing up to 45 pounds and assist in lifting and rotating patients who are unable to ambulate (up to 50 pounds).
