Licensed Practical Nurse PT Days EMCFW UCHC (Multiple Vacancies) University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), operating within Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is a dedicated provider of physical, mental health, dental, and specialized treatment services to individuals in the criminal justice system. UCHC serves approximately 1,000 staff with a budget of $150 million. Rutgers is seeking a Part‑Time Licensed Practical Nurse for the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility located in Clinton, NJ. The primary purpose of the position is to provide skilled patient care, administer treatments, and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities Participate in data collection related to patients’ status and needs. Provide input to the Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care by communicating pertinent information. Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care. Inform and instruct patients and significant others on health and illness state as well as plan of care. Assist patients or significant others in preparation for discharge and health maintenance at home. Document all aspects of patient care. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Certifications and Licenses CPR Certification (required). Valid Driver’s License and a reliable means of transportation between sites. Preferred Qualifications At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting. Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be capable of performing CPR for at least 10 minutes and assist in lifting/rotating patients who are unable to ambulate (up to 50 pounds). Special Conditions Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements. Position Details Position Status: Part Time Working Hours: 20 hours per week (Standard Hours: 40.00). Daily Work Shift: Day. Work Arrangement: Full onsite. Salary & Benefits Grade 215. Minimum Salary: $32.520 per hour. Mid‑Range Salary: $33.020 per hour. Maximum Salary: $34.010 per hour. Benefits include: Medical, prescription drug, and dental coverage.
