Enterprise Programmer Analyst III - Finance Enterprise Systems

Position DescriptionThe Enterprise Programmer Analyst III's role is to develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of business requirements. This position will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. In its short history, the TTU System has grown tremendously and is nationally acclaimed, operating at 24 academic locations in 20 cities (18 in Texas, 2 international).In addition, the TTU System is one of only nine in the nation to offer programs for undergraduate, medical, law, nursing, pharmacy, dental and veterinary education, among other academic areas.Major/Essential FunctionsPerforms systems analysis, develops, and reviews programming code defined in project plans to meet design specifications, customer requirements, and/or applies vendor supplied upgrades.Performs ongoing support of Ellucian Banner ERP and other software systems.Completes other programming tasks, as assigned by management.Completes application modifications to enhance functionality, adapt to technology changes, and to correct application errors.Supervises and/or leads programming projects and initiatives, as assigned by management.Design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on user or system design specificationsEnsures that vendor supplied upgrades are properly integrated into the finance enterprise systems and applications.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to:Exercise judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.Plan and organize effectively, prioritize goals, use time efficiently, and stay on task.Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Establish and maintain effective work relationships.Advanced level analytical and design skills, including process description, logic, problem diagnostics, and problem solving.Advanced level understanding of programming languages, syntax structures, and data management techniques.Advanced level understanding of application and database design and development concepts and standards.Training in computer programming through education or experience.Specific or specialized technical skills, as appropriate to the area and/or team.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus three years related full-time paid experience OR Master's degree in computer science, MIS, IT or other related area plus one year related full-time paid experience.This position is designated as involving access to critical infrastructure systems and/or research, as defined by Texas Executive Order GA-48. As such, candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. Employees are required to comply with all applicable state and federal regulations related to the protection of critical infrastructure. Ongoing employment is dependent upon maintaining eligibility for access and successfully passing periodic security and compliance reviews.Preferred QualificationsObject Oriented programming methodology.
