- Establish and maintain warning signs, windsocks or wind indicators, barricades, safe briefing areas, muster locations, and escape-route markings when included in the site plan.
- Set up and inspect breathing-air trailers, air cascades, manifolds, compressors, supplied-air respirators, escape packs, self-contained breathing apparatus, hoses, fittings, and related equipment within training and authorization.
- Verify that respiratory-protection and emergency equipment remains accessible, properly identified, fully charged or supplied, and ready for immediate use.
- Maintain accountability for monitors, cylinders, masks, harnesses, hoses, radios, signage, and other assigned equipment during mobilization, use, and demobilization.
- Participate in pre-job meetings, job safety analyses, tailgate meetings, site orientations, emergency drills, and shift-change briefings.
- Observe work activities and field conditions for unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, permit concerns, changing hazards, or failure to follow required controls and promptly communicate concerns.
- Verify the availability and condition of required personal protective equipment, fire extinguishers, first-aid supplies, eyewash equipment, gas monitors, communication devices, and emergency equipment.
- Support site-specific requirements for work involving H2S, confined or restricted areas, hot work, line opening, excavation, working at height, vehicle movement, simultaneous operations, and other identified hazards.
- Assist supervisors and client representatives with site inspections, safety observations, corrective-action follow-up, and verification of completed controls within assigned authority.
- Provide or assist with approved safety orientations, H2S awareness briefings, equipment-use demonstrations, muster instructions, and emergency-procedure reviews when trained and authorized.

- Maintain awareness of wind direction, alarm locations, escape routes, muster points, emergency contacts, communication channels, and the responsibilities identified in the site emergency plan.
- Respond immediately to H2S alarms and other emergencies by initiating notifications, directing personnel toward designated safe areas, accounting for personnel, and supporting the incident lead within training and assigned duties.
- Assist with evacuation, muster, scene control, emergency communications, first-aid response, and coordination with client emergency-response personnel or outside responders.
- Do not enter hazardous atmospheres or perform rescue activities beyond the employee's training, equipment, authorization, or assigned role.
- Report and document alarms, exposures, injuries, spills, near misses, equipment failures, property damage, and other safety events promptly and accurately.
- Complete documented pre-use, shift, and post-use inspections of detection instruments, respiratory equipment, air systems, cylinders, trailers, vehicles, radios, and emergency supplies.
- Clean, disinfect, recharge, refill, replace consumables, and properly store equipment according to manufacturer instructions and company procedures.
- Track calibration, inspection, cylinder, sensor, battery, and maintenance status and remove expired, damaged, malfunctioning, or out-of-tolerance equipment from service.
- Perform routine operator-level maintenance and minor adjustments within training and authorization and coordinate repairs or replacement with the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain assigned vehicles, trailers, equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, organized, secure, and serviceable condition.
- Communicate clearly with client representatives, supervisors, employees, contractors, control-room personnel, and emergency responders regarding hazards, readings, alarms, equipment status, and required actions.
- Complete daily reports, field tickets, monitor logs, calibration and bump-test records, inspection forms, equipment inventories, training records, time records, and incident documentation accurately and on time.
- Document equipment placement, atmospheric readings, alarm events, corrective actions, personnel briefings, delays, and changes in site conditions or work scope.
