Emergency Department Technician I

Overview City/State: Norfolk, VA Work Shift: Third (Nights) Position: Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) Job Responsibilities Perform lab draws and EKGs. Assist nurses and physicians with patient care. Support inpatient and outpatient emergency department settings. Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Clinical experience De‑escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Preferred qualifications: EMT‑B with state or national certification at hire OR successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates, or current enrollment in a clinical program (RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy). Prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code within the past two years will be considered in lieu of the above criteria.
