ASSOCIATE DESIGNER - Aeropostale Guys

Overview Position Overview Key Responsibilities Design & Creative Support Assist in developing seasonal concepts, color palettes, prints, and silhouettes aligned with brand direction Create design sketches and technical flats using Adobe Illustrator under guidance from senior team members Support fabric, trim, and color selection in collaboration with cross-functional partners Help build mood boards, concept decks, and presentation materials for seasonal reviews Conduct trend, market, and competitive research using digital platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, Miro, WGSN) Product Development & Execution Assist in the creation and maintenance of tech packs, including measurements, construction details, and design intent Participate in fit sessions; take notes, track updates, and support revisions through approval Help review samples throughout development to ensure alignment with design direction, quality, and fit standards Maintain accurate records and track updates to support on-time product development Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Merchandising to support alignment with line plans and seasonal goals Work with Technical Design and Production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality standards Communicate design details and updates to vendors and internal partners Support seasonal milestone meetings and help ensure deadlines are met Operational & Team Support Maintain organized design files, reference materials, and seasonal documentation Update PLM systems, line plans, and internal tracking tools Assist with market preparation, presentations, and collaboration projects as needed Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred Experience 1–3 years of apparel design experience (internships included) Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment preferred Menswear experience a plus Portfolio required Skills Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with PLM systems preferred Experience using Miro or similar tools for collaboration Exposure to AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Vizcom) for ideation and visualization is a plus Strong sketching and attention to detail Basic understanding of garment construction, fabrications, and fit Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Personal Attributes Passion for design with a strong interest in menswear and trends Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn Positive, collaborative team player Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Physical Requirements (if applicable) Ability to lift and transport garment samples and sample boxes Ability to attend fit sessions, line reviews, and market meetings Pay Range USD $62,700.00 - USD $114,000.00 /Yr. #J-18808-Ljbffr Aeropostale, Inc
