Role Description The Estimator role at Ferreira Power South is a full-time, hybrid position based in Haltom City, TX, with flexibility for some work from home. The Estimator will review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical and civil construction projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing quantity takeoffs, analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs, requesting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes, and preparing detailed bid proposals. The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to clarify scope, identify risks, and support bid strategy. This role also involves maintaining estimating data, updating cost databases, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating tools and processes. Qualifications Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and project scopes, and develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns. Experience preparing estimates and bids for electrical, civil, or utility construction projects, including transmission, distribution, or substation work. Proficiency with estimating software and tools, as well as Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project management, engineering, procurement, and field operations teams. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing bid requirements. Understanding of construction means and methods, labor and equipment productivity, and market pricing for materials and subcontractors. Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical business practices in all estimating and procurement activities. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Prior experience in power utility construction or heavy civil construction estimating is highly beneficial. #J-18808-Ljbffr
