Program/Project Manager role - manufacturing

 

Our client is a global leader in industrial equipment, technology, and services, supporting customers across construction, mining, energy, transportation, and infrastructure industries worldwide. This organization is committed to innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement through business process automation and cross-functional collaboration.  This role is based in Alpharetta, is fully onsite and requires up to 25% domestic travel. 

 

Our client is seeking a Project Program Manager to support strategic business process automation initiatives while serving as the primary liaison between Technical Sales Support and key internal business partners within Oil & Gas and Mining operations. This position combines project leadership, stakeholder management, and process improvement responsibilities to drive successful project delivery and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.

 

Summary

The Project Program Manager will coordinate and execute business process automation projects, including workflow improvement, reporting enhancements, and automation initiatives. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, process owners, and leadership teams to gather requirements, establish project plans, track milestones, manage risks, and ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to lead projects across multiple functional teams while influencing stakeholders without direct authority.

 

Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional projects from planning through implementation and adoption.
Serve as the primary coordination and relationship management contact for internal business stakeholders.
Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, risk registers, action-item logs, and status reports.
Facilitate meetings, document decisions, and track commitments to ensure successful project execution.
Gather business requirements and translate stakeholder needs into structured project plans.
Coordinate business process automation initiatives, including workflow and reporting improvements.
Monitor project dependencies, risks, resource requirements, and deliverables.
Communicate project status, roadblocks, recommendations, and next steps to leadership and stakeholders.
Support testing, implementation readiness, change management, and user adoption activities.
Work collaboratively with developers, analysts, and business teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
Create and maintain process maps, workflow documentation, and project records.
Drive accountability and project momentum while managing priorities across multiple initiatives.

Required Qualifications
5-7 years of project or program management experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate's degree considered with additional project management experience.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and delivering successful outcomes.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Experience supporting business process improvement and automation initiatives.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and related collaboration tools.
Experience developing project schedules, milestone plans, risk logs, issue logs, and executive-level status reporting.
Experience creating or interpreting process maps using Visio or similar tools.
Ability to influence individuals and teams without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications
PMP Certification.
Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, databases, workflow systems, or similar automation technologies.
Familiarity with requirements gathering, UAT, implementation planning, and change management.
Experience working within Agile, hybrid, or iterative project environments.
Experience interpreting dashboard metrics and collaborating with developers and analysts to define performance measures.
