Ultrasound Technologist - Ultrasound

Overview Ultrasound Technologist – St. Joseph Hospital, Eureka, CA. Full‑time, 8‑hour day shift. Responsibilities Perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages under the direction of the Department Director and supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, in collaboration with radiologists. Serve as a customer service representative to patients, families, the public, and the medical staff. Participate in quality control and organizational improvement activities. Act as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers. Participate in the call schedule to meet staffing needs of the department. Required Qualifications Graduated from a diagnostic ultrasound program approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association or equivalent education/experience; or completed equivalent training through self‑study or on‑the‑job training. National Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire. National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a hospital‑based ultrasound technologist.
