The successful candidate possesses a thorough understanding of the development and field implementation of Electrical documents through all project phases. This position requires the ability to coordinate with internal and external parties, manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others. This position may work independently or at the direction of the Project Manager. The successful candidate is responsible for directing and managing the workflows and execution of electrical design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectations and project goals.The Senior Lead Electrical Engineer focuses on the design and engineering of power, lighting, grounding/bonding, special systems (e.g., telephone/data, security, fire alarm), raceway, cable tray, and other electrical control and building support systems into the built work environment. The individual possesses demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others. This position will coordinate with internal and external architects and engineers, as well as clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors and manufacturers. Typical tasks and deliverables that are executed by or supervised by the Senior Lead Electrical Engineer include power load, illumination, short circuit and voltage drop calculations; basis of design reports; code evaluations; one-line diagrams; plans; schedules; installation details; specifications; and coordination with manufacturers and construction trade partners. The successful candidate possesses the ability to provide mentoring and training on advanced electrical design and engineering topics. Project work includes directing design activities for all levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration.ResponsibilitiesLeads a team of discipline staff in the execution of electrical systems design and engineering for advanced and complex projects in conformance with code requirements and in coordination with other design disciplines.Works closely with other architects, engineers and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible and complete design.Coordinates with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers.Develops narratives, reports and construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on large projects of advanced complexity with no oversight.Provides lead and advanced support for construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development and construction progress reports.Attends professional development activities.Utilizes various platforms to execute work, such as Microsoft Office products and available BIM software.Interfaces with clients and external partners.Plans and directs work and manages a project budget from an electrical design perspective on small, medium and large complex projects.Identifies and resolves non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys.Develops advanced internal electrical design and engineering training presentations.Develops construction progress reports.Conducts quality checking of documents for complex projects (e.g., technical verification of design calculations, documentation, design approaches) and drives overall project quality.Provides mentorship to less experienced Electrical Engineers and/or Designers.Leads systems design programming and master planning on advanced projects with minimum to no support from Senior Engineer.Works with a Project Manager on proposal development, design task identification, man-hour planning and project scheduling for the electrical discipline scope of work on advanced level projects.May work on one or more projects simultaneously as directed by a Supervisor.QualificationsABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Engineering Technology15 years of experienceRelevant AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm experienceProfessional Engineer registration in good standingPreferred QualificationsRelevant design firm experienceProficiency in Revit and AutoCADProficiency in Microsoft Office suiteAdvanced knowledge of GMP manufacturing environmentsAdvanced experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing electrical lighting, power and special systems designsAdvanced experience with using and applying electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, and/or IEEE)Advanced experience with using and applying applicable building codesAdvanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and providing support of field reportingProficient with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordinationProficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturersProficient at advanced electrical lighting, power and special systems design calculations without supervisionAdvanced experience with troubleshooting issues with electrical and systemsAbility to travel for client development and project execution, and internal and external training opportunitiesAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.CRB is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
