Associate Researcher I (Dr Drexler's Lab) - Neurosciences

Job Description The Associate Researcher I is a laboratory research position, responsible for independent conduct of routine and standardized experiments. This individual assists in the interpretation of research outcomes, performs assays to support research studies, and assists in the clerical and supply aspects of the laboratory environment. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in science or related field (neuroscience, cancer biology, etc) required No experience required. One year of research experience preferred. Prior laboratory research experience, including basic molecular, cellular, or animal techniques. Familiarity with rodent handling; willingness to be trained in survival surgery. Responsibilities Performs routine and standardized experiments using in vitro and in vivo tumor models. Assists with rodent stereotactic and survival surgeries. Assists senior-level researchers with optogenetics, fiber photometry and Neuropixels recordings. Performs data collection and analysis. Maintains lab supplies, equipment, and reagent inventory; coordinates ordering and routine equipment upkeep. Maintains accurate records and complies with IACUC, biosafety, and institutional requirements. Compensation Statement Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661 - $80,211.02 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
