Facility Assistant

Provides operational and maintenance support at the Specialties Company Storage Facility. This role serves a dual purpose: performing general labor, equipment maintenance, and site maintenance, while directly assisting the Lead Technician with specialized duties such as heavy equipment maintenance, welding, and daily site management. Key Responsibilities Direct Support: Assist the Lead Technician with daily operations, scheduling, project execution, and recordkeeping. General Labor & Site Upkeep: Perform routine facility maintenance, site housekeeping, material handling, and general labor tasks to maintain a clean, safe workplace. Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Safely operate facility machinery and perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on heavy equipment. Fabrication Support: Assist with basic welding, cutting, and metal prep tasks under guidance. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all facility safety protocols and assist with workplace inspection logs and documentation. Flexible Support: Carry out all other duties as assigned by management to support facility goals. Requirements & Qualifications Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Physical Capability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand for long periods, and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions. Technical Skills: Basic familiarity with hand/power tools, general labor machinery, and elementary welding/cutting techniques. Core Competencies: Good verbal/written communication, reliable record-keeping skills, and a willingness to follow directions and learn on the job. Travel Required No .
