Position SummaryOdyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman Mechanical Engineer supporting an Air Force acquisition mission within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Armament Directorate Attack Division (AFLCMC/EBD). The Attack division forges innovative, agile attack capabilities at the speed of relevance to support the US Warfighter and Coalition Partners. In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will lend your mechanical engineering support to help develop tools and support equipment that load munitions while meeting program objectives for cost, schedule, performance, and compliance. The successful candidate is creative, resourceful, engaging, and enjoys a hands-on mechanical challenge.This is a full-time onsite position at Eglin AFB, Florida.ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but not limited to: Provide mechanical/aerospace/materials engineering support across the acquisition, development, and sustainment lifecycle.Apply advanced engineering principles to ensure technical efforts align with program objectives, cost, schedule, and performance requirements.Assist with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and technical recommendations supporting system and equipment performance.Support planning and execution of complex engineering tasks involving:Statics, Dynamics, TribologyMechanical wear, Fatigue, CorrosionFluid dynamics, ThermodynamicsAssist in the generation and interpretation of technical data packages, including 2D drawings and 3D models.Support testing, evaluation, life prediction, and standardization of materials and material properties used in engineering design.Provide technical inputs to briefings, technical reviews, and program documentation in support of Government decision-making.Collaborate within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support mission execution and program success.QualificationsCitizenship: Must be a US citizenMinimum Required QualificationsClearance: Must have a current Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearanceEducation and experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related discipline and 3 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in engineering or other related discipline and 1 year of relevant experiencePreferred QualificationsCurrent Top Secret clearanceBachelor's degree in engineering and 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in engineering and 3 years of relevant experienceABET-accredited engineering degreeExperience supporting Air Force or DoD acquisition programsExperience supporting weapon system development and/or sustainment environmentsStrong experience interpreting technical drawings and models in support of engineering decisionsKnowledge of or experience of military support equipmentUnderstanding of metal fabricationTechnical SkillsMechanical engineering fundamentals (Statics, Dynamics, Wear, Fatigue, Corrosion, Tribology)Fluid dynamics and thermodynamics analysisTechnical data package review (2D drawings, 3D models)Materials engineering concepts including life prediction and standardizationEngineering support for acquisition, development, and sustainment programsInterpersonal SkillsStrong written and verbal communicationStrong analytical problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate effectively in IPT environmentsHigh attention to detail and ability to support multiple prioritiesAdditional InformationLocation: Eglin AFB, FLTravel: Travel may be required per the customer's discretion (estimated 10%)Work Environment: Onsite9/80 work schedule option may be available#LI-TG1Company OverviewOdyssey is a world-class technical, engineering, and integration company serving the warfighting ecosystem with airborne integration, ISR, C2, and warfighter readiness capabilities.
