Patient Account Specialist - CareResource Hawaii Administration (Full-Time, 40, Day)

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general direction of the Business Services Manager, responsible for submitting bills, collecting monies due for services rendered. Responsible for maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking. Constant: sitting, reaching above, at and below shoulders; repetitive arm/hand motion and frequent gripping of objects. Frequent: stooping/bending, and twisting body. Occasional: standing, walking. Infrequent: lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 3.5 pounds of force.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE

High school diploma or equivalent.

B. EXPERIENCE

Minimum one (1) year of billing and collection work experience or be a graduate of a business program or college. Experience in a healthcare environment. Ability to produce spreadsheets and correspondence using Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to operate office equipment including computer, calculator, copier, fax and shredder. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Familiarity with Allscripts computer software. Familiarity with medical terminology.
