Auberle’s mission is to help build strong individuals, families, and communitiesProgram Description:Ward Home, INCMy Best Self which builds self-esteem and teaches hair care and personal hygiene to Allegheny County young people in placement anywhere in the state. MBS also assists youth experiencing homelessness and need self-care support. The program provides professional hair services, culturally specific self-care supplies, social exposures, and self-care workshops to youth in Congregate Care facilities and Transition Aged Youth up to age 24.Position Title and Overview:Self-Care AdvisorFacilitate workshops, presentations, and individual sessions with youth on a variety of hygiene and self-care topicsResearch information needed to prepare workshopsSupport and facilitate the referral process for new clients for the MBS programRecruit salon providers and vendors as neededSchedule appointments and track hair services for the MBS programMaintain and submit salon provider invoices for payment as neededResearch, organize and attend social exposure eventsDistribute survey information for each service provided by the MBS programCreate and distribute self-care bagsAttend all assigned and required training internal and externalAttend all required meetings internal and external as neededApplicate Qualifications:Communicate effectively in speech and in writingRequires maintaining a flexible schedule including evenings and SaturdaysLocation and Travel Requirements:This position is primarily located in McKeesport.
