Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer
Location: Warren, MI & Toledo, OH (Travel Required)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Controls Engineer with experience in Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) to support installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of automated material handling systems. The ideal candidate will have strong PLC controls experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms and be comfortable traveling between Warren, MI and Toledo, OH.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and debug ASRS and material handling systems.
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs, HMIs, and controls systems.
- Support system startup, testing, and production readiness activities.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams during project execution.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) or material handling automation.
- Strong PLC experience with Allen Bradley (ControlLogix/Studio 5000) and Siemens (S7/TIA Portal) .
- Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, startup, and debugging of automated equipment.
- Ability to travel regularly between Warren, MI and Toledo, OH.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting General Motors (GM) facilities or projects.
- Background in automotive manufacturing or industrial automation.
