Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Cardiac/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Cardiac/Telemetry Stepdown unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Care for a cardiac-focused patient population including post-cath, AMI, post-PCI, pacemaker, chest tube, and post-operative lung surgery patients, as well as those in respiratory failure
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro (up to 50 mcg)
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently using Philips monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with CNA support staff and Respiratory Therapy, which manages all CPAP and BiPap equipment on the unit
• Participate in the holiday rotation schedule alongside permanent staff and fulfill every-other-weekend requirements (Saturday/Sunday)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in West Virginia or compact state eligibility
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Must be able to independently titrate IV drips
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac rhythm strips
• No artificial/false nails permitted per facility dress code policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a cardiac, telemetry, or stepdown setting
• Familiarity with post-cath and post-PCI patient care protocols
• Experience managing chest tubes and pacemaker patients
• Comfort working with a high-acuity cardiac population requiring frequent drip titration
