Step into an exciting opportunity supporting elementary students as a contract occupational therapist near Providence, RI. In this full-time role, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated special education team to make a tangible impact on student success throughout the school year. Starting immediately and extending through June 2027, you will work with a manageable caseload of 40 elementary-aged students, utilizing your expertise to help them thrive in both academic and daily living skills.

Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and providing direct therapy services in both classroom and potential home health settings. You’ll consult with teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure continuity and holistic support for each child.

Desired Background and Credentials:

• Active MA Occupational Therapist (OT) license or eligibility to obtain
• Previous experience in school-based, home health, or pediatric OT settings preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Compassionate, collaborative approach to working with students and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to tailor interventions to meet diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students’ motor skills and functional abilities as they relate to their educational goals
• Create and implement individualized therapy interventions
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Consult regularly with teachers, parents, and team members
• Provide support for students’ participation in daily school activities
