Intelligence Operations Specialist

Summary This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for: Serve as the Cyber Counterintelligence (CCI) Team Chief managing a team of CI Officers and Cyber Analysts focusing on detecting, defeating or mitigating foreign intelligence entity cyber activities or threats targeting MDA administrative and Missile Defense System operational networks. Responsibilities This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path. As a Intelligence Operations Specialist at the GG-0132-13 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as Chief, Cyber CI support, managing a contractor support team focused on detecting, identifying, deterring, defeating or mitigating foreign intelligence entity directed cyber activities targeting MDA administrative and operation networks. Oversees the preparation, coordination and execution of Cyber CI activities in support of MDA Research, Development and Acquisition Programs and deployed Missile Defense Systems worldwide. Provides direct Cyber CI support to all phases of the Next Generation Missile Defense development, integration and testing. Represents the MDA CI Division on Intelligence Community (IC) multi-disciplinary efforts, working groups, or meeting involving cyber CI threats and activities. Anticipates problems and obstacles associated with moderately complex projects and proactively develops solutions to address them prior to implementation. Coordinates and tracks MDA cyber intelligence requirements with the US intelligences/cyber communities. Reviews technical threat products of completeness, scope, and accuracy before providing feedback to MDA network defenders. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GG13 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-12/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 3 of the 5 specialized experience listed below to be qualified: Experience as a Counterintelligence Special Agent Experience as a Digital Forensic Examiner Experience and training as a Cyber Investigator Experience with changing requirements, priorities, and short deadlines Experience managing multiple short-term and long-term task and projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
